    Hi,
I've some VCD vedio song files & I want to burn them in a DVD disc using GFD. Just want to make like a DVD movie. But lots of error are getting while authoring them. Perhaps I am making some mistakes.

Do I need to comvert them to mpeg-2?
Is it not possible to make in mpeg-1? If yes, then where's the problem?

yes, mpeg-1 at VCD resolution is legal for DVD, however VCD audio is not.

Try using svcd2dvd instead, at least get all the assets right.

We have many guides on how to do this:
    https://www.videohelp.com/guides?searchtext=&tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=VCD+...or+List+Guides

Using SVCD2DVD is probably the easiest way, but this program is not free. There is another program that can do it called SVCD2DVDMPG and I think that it is free, but I haven't used it.

You don't have to convert to MPEG-2. MPEG-1 video valid for VCD is also valid for DVD, but the audio must be converted to 48 KHz. However, some DVD authoring programs do not allow you to use MPEG-1 video. This is wrong as the specification for DVD allows MPEG-1 to be used, but some programs still don't support it.

Note that Indian VCDs are usually copy protected. I don't know if that's true in Bangladesh or not. Maybe your problem is dealing with VCD copy protection. We have had some posts in the past in the VCD/SVCD forum about the type of copy protection used on Indian VCDs. I know that it's very difficult to defeat.

    Hi,
No question about disc. those files are already in my hard disk.
And I think GFD is giving errors releting to Audio. so perhaps I need to split vedio & audio files, then convert the audio to 48 MHz & then combine them & try again, right?

    So, any idea?

    Alternative solution (100% works)
    ====================================
using TMPGEnc Express & TMPGEnc DVD Author
    1. load your vcd video to TMPGEnc Express, don't change anything, just choose VCD standard
output and "convert"(VCD standardization it's the exact words, because It runs much
    faster than converting)
    2. load the resulted video to TMPGEnc DVD Author.Create menus, chapters and stuff if you
need to and create your DVD.
with this method,a dvd disc can handle up to 8 hours of vcd.

    Hi,
    Sorry for very letv reply...
I've succedded to make a full dvd from VCD files. Thanks a lot to all of you.
I just use DVDlabPro to demultiplex & convert audio to 48 KHz & GFD for multiplex & authoring...that's it.
