I have seen both these for sale in Western Australia for $139
LiteOn optical DH-4O1S BLU-RAY ROM, 4xBLU-RAY, 12xDVD, 32xCDRW, READ ONLY, BLAC
LG GGC-H20 Blu RAY / HD RETAIL
What i am not sure about is, that with conventional set top BluRay machines there is a new version (2 i think) and that this allows for better interactivity.
How does that compare to P.C Rom's. Do they run on a similiar version, are they restricted by version numbers.

I guess it's just the player that needs to be updated and not the blu-ray drive.

Sorry, i may not have been clear in my posting.
On wikipedia under Bluray, they talk about profiles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluray
They list Profile 1.1 as NO Internet connection capability
They list Profile 2.0 as MANDATORY Internet connection capability
I understand some time back that retailers were dumping version 1.1 cheaply on the market and selling version 2.0
Does this type of profile system apply to ROM's as well.
