    I have some MKV's with softsubs within each mkv file (not a seperate file like .ass). How do I extract the subtitles, convert them to avi (xvid's), and put the subtitles back in as hardsubs. It would be great if I could be able to adjust the subtitles before hardcoding (changing size/height from bottom/color). I remember there was a thread similar to this, but that was many months ago, and the search forums couldn't find it.

    You could try MKVExtract and see if that helps

    xvid4psp, load the mkv, load the subs, choose avi xvid, convert.
