I am very new to this business of 'hacking' players/recorders to enable multi-region playing of DVD's, so IF this is the incorrect forum, please accept my apologies, and point me in the right direction.
I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder Model DMR-EX77EB ~ I found a link showing a 'Hack' for my system here on this website, but I am a little unsure as to how I exactly go about it.
The poster "Edinsurfer" stated:I am baffled as to what this all means: Does the poster mean I have to obtain the OFA Kameleon 4 remote then enter the codes:191,120,065,180,143,155,122,117,129,123 But then what, as I dont understand the rest of the instructions.2 user region code/hacks Never Post region code/hack comment

This also works on the Panasonic DMR-EX77
Using a OFA Kameleon 4 (on special offer from my local Maplin Branch and also on their internet site) it requires a 5 digit code, so make up a table like so-using the codes
191,120,065,180,143,155,122,117,129,123
Magic 994 Magic 00191 -1
(Rabbit from Hat) (2 Flashes)
Magic 994 Magic 00120 -2
Magic 994 Magic 00065 -3
And so on up to 0
Take great care entering codes (I did them twice) and tick them off when entered. After pointing the Kammy at the DMR EX-77 from about 3 feet press each button in turn 1-2-3 etc and after a few seconds Hello should appear
Programs copied from Hdd to disc are also region free as confirmed by NERO (Disc Info)
Reset the Kammy using the learning feature ie.1 back on 1.2 on 2 etc as if you don’t the numeric keys will fire the code on the button the next time you use it.
Great I can now watch any region movie again.
If anyone can help or advise, I would be so pleased.
PS MAplin only has the OFA Kameleon 5 remote on offer now. Does it matter?
Thanks
Drusus

Maybe this will help:

See page 20 which describes how to program your keys using the "Key Magic" feature of your One For All remote. -
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
To be honest, I had forgotten I had posted this thread, as I managed to sort my problem out.
After paying a couple of online companies for a "supposed" hack, neither of which were for my model as it turned out when the documentation arrived, I decided to try another approach.
For £20 including first class postage (it arrived the very next day), I was able to purchase a "one time hack remote" from a small company called dvdchips.co.uk. This is a small PCB with a small chip and an infrared eye that is keyed to your specific make and model.
It took less that 5 mins in total from start to finish, and gave me a full multi-region dvd recorder. Some people may baulk at spending twenty quid, but if you have already spent two hundred quid etc. on your recorder, it is a small price for what it achieves, and i can say it works beautifully.
Anyhow, thanks for you help, your efforts are still appreciated.
Please note that I have nothing to do with dvdchips.co.uk apart from being a very happy and pleased customer

that remote you listed is now hard to get, how do I use the commands with this URC-6690B00 OFA Kameleon 6-device Hybrid Remote?
I am trying to unlock a Panasonic DMR-EZ28. It has a memory bank to accept commands from 3 remotes - it will accept operations from any remote that transmits the correct sequence for a sustained 5 seconds. This eliminates the use of quick hacks, does it?
I have a different DVD-player that I use regularly (Shinco 868) as the main player, but I want to pack the Panasonic for conventions, as they are cheap on eBay.
