Do you have the full version ? Because I have it and it only burns 1 cd and with only 26mins of video, and I don't know why, I got rid of the 1/4 limitation and still won't burn or create a whole movie.
I like the quality, it's not that bad, and it is very easy to use, but I will like to know why mine it's not workig properly.! Viva Mexico ! -
haven't used it yet,but it has lot of settings.i'm wondering if you can overburn with one disc.

burned them both and it took about 5 hours FOR THE WHOLE MOVIE.the quality is pretty good for a vcd and i changed the movie from full screen to letterbox and i chose english over chinese language and removed the subtitles.as far as dvd goes it gave me all the important options i needed,i guess u could have more options, but 4 what???????

Hi Bravo,
I read your comments regarding the Dup-DVD.. I've been looking at this software myself...looks interesting...
My question; does it really work ? I mean, you don't have to do any conversion or any special steps to copy the DVD to a VCD ?
Does it handle the Macrovison problem ?
Does it work as advertised ? That is, is it true that the Dup-DVD only utilizes 2 Gigs of space ? (wonder how this is done ? perhaps the software only "looks at" one chapter in the DVD at a time; then ties the chapters together into one unit - then burns the Vcd. Hmmm.. )
Regarding the finished product; how is the SOUND quality ? Does the software utilize the same CODEC (AC-3) that is used in DVD's to burn the sound into VCD's ? (forgive me, I'm a newbie at this sorta thing. I don't know if it's POSSIBLE to burn the SAME sound quality (dolby surround sound) that is on a DVD into a VDC.
I imagine that the Video quality would be the same as the ordinary Vcd, that is, slightly better than the ordinary Pre-recorded Video Tape. This quality is just fine by me. I personally would have no problems with this quality.
The advertisement for the software indicates that a fast processor or a large hard drive is not really needed to utilize this product.. Is this the case ? I ask this question because I have a Pentium II 350, Windows 2000 Pro, with a 6 gig hardrive.. (I know, it's time for a massive upgrade.. but when a limited budget is the problem - you do what you can. )
Sorry, but one final question; again, you'll have to forgive me,.. but I simply don't know.. maybe it would be best to go to the firm that makes the Dup-DVD software to ask this question; BUT...I don't have an INTERNAL DVD-rom; I DO have the ADS UBS Instant Video (external) capture card. I can use my stand alone VCR and DVD..(I have a Digital Video Stabilizer (RXII) box placed between the DVD player and the capture card, using analog RCA jacks..to eliminate the Macrovision problems. It works. )
Now, I don't know if you would know, BUT would the Dup-DVD software RECOGNISE this arrangement ? Again.. perhaps it's a question best left up to the software firm. But, again; doesn't hurt to ask.
Thanks for your time and pateince with me,
greatsinatrafan -

Hello friend I'm from Venezuela, and I ask if you have been able to make dup-dvd work.
" yo lo he probado y nada, me mamo 3 horas y no quema un coņo"
I have tested it, and nothing, I suck myself for 3 hours and it doesn't burn shit!!.

So here's my answer to ftb32 ( first in english )
Hi ftb32:
Dup-dvd is a one step dvd to vcd program that works as advertized, but the mpeg quality is pretty bad ( in my opinion ). It's far far from TMPEG.
Also it's very slow. Your best bet is to use XMPEG and frameserver to TMPEG. That's the best quality you can get right now.

kwag
Hola ftb32:

ok guys, im the dude that wrote the topic "horror story" about dup-dvd. i own it and will tell anyone here about it. it does work as it states. it is very simple to use. you simply put your dvd in your dvd drive, put your cdr in the cdr drive and click go...... your result is a good quality vcd !
however, (and i found this out the hard way) you should never do any ripping directly from the dvd drive. you should always rip the dvd to your hard drive and do your conversions from there. while using dup-dvd, my dvd drive got so hot that it melted the dvd inside of it. i let it cool and had a real mess. i ended up trashing the dvd drive and having to pay for the "rented" dvd i was ripping.
it is a great program !! but i have to say.....buyer beware -
i just downloaded dvd2svcd, would you be willing to walk me through the process of using it ?
-
My ten cents..... I've only tried it on SVCD and the quality was poor. I'm not at all a nerd over quality, and at best I would only say it was half decent. Like someone has already stated, it has problems in burning the second and third cds and there is also a minor sync issue. Until an improved version comes out I will not be using it again
p.s. DVD2SVCD rules! -
