I've got a PIII 500 MHz with 512 MB RAM. I have a AverMedia AverTV card. I'm using the software that came with that card to record things off of television.

The problem is that the audio/video jumps out of sync *in some cases* about 10 minutes in. The AverTV software makes a MPEG-1 file.

-When I view that file with Windows Media Player, it's fine, no problems at all. Audio and video are in sync the entire way though.

-When I use the MPEG Tools in TMPGEnc to take out the commercials, there is no sync problem when *viewing* it there. But the output file is out of sync after the first 10 minutes. It's not gradual, there seems to be a point right around the 10 minute mark where the audio/video jump out of sync, but the first 10 minutes are fine.

-When I open the original file recorded by the AverTV software in VirtualDub and view the input, the first 10 minutes again are fine, but after that the A/V are out of sync. If I go to Video->Framerate and change the setting to "Change so video and audio durations match" then the A/V get out of sync in about the first 5 minutes.

This has happened to me on several occasions. The only thing I can find to fix the problem is just re-record whatever I had recorded to see if the problem goes away. Sometimes a new recording is fine, sometimes it's not. I've read several posts and how-to's, but I haven't seen anything where the A/V jump out of sync 10 minutes into it, but maybe I missed something. I tried searching, but it says the search is offline. Can anyone offer some guidance?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
