  1. I have an mpg file. I am going to make my own DVD from that file. To authoring purpose I am using DVDAuthorGui (version 1.01 on Windows Vista).

As soon as I am going to add my movie using AddTitle button, I am getting the following error.

Warning: NAV packets are not detected in video.mpg. Please demultiplex.

What is demultiplex? I have avidemux software. Can I use it for demultiplex? How? Please help.

  2. demultiplexing for mpg files means splitting the audio and video into their elementary streams

you can use dgindex (from dgmpgdec) (file=>save project and demux video) You will get a .m2v file which is the video and either an .ac3 file or .mp2 file which is the audio
