We want to take advanatage of h.264 and get a final movie (in mp4 or m4v) in the 640x480 resolution. Adobe Premiere Elements 3 does not have this as a preset, maybe it's too old of a product. But, we are told that we can export our movie in the full dv-avi format and do a quick convesion in Quicktime to get this final resolution.

    1. How do we export our video in Adobe Premiere 3 to a full dv-avi file?

    2. Even better, how can we skip the 2 step process and get PE3 to export a movie to an ipod preset using h.264 & a 640x480 m4v file?

Does anyone know how to do this using Adobe Premiere 3?

    3. At the moment, PE3 does not have a preset for 640x480 ipod movie setting. If we purchased Quicktime Pro and installed it on the computer, will PE3 gain save options and use Quicktime Pro's sainvg otions to get to a 640x480 m4v file?

    1. It is in there. For normal Premiere you find it under File-Export-Movie-AVI-DV.

ok, we can find the export for DV-AVI but it is in the 720x480 resolution and it doesn't look like we can change that. So the better option would be to export from PE3 directly without going through QT Pro. Do you know how we can export a proper h.264 m4v file in 640x480 using PE3? From what I understand, we need to stay with Level 1.3 but at this level, PE3 will not let me change resolution from 320x240. I can only adjust size to 640x480 if I nump level up to 3.0. But from the experts in the filed, I was told to stick to level 1.3 for ipod compatibility issues.

    Any ideas?
