We are currently looking for bluetooth or USB based wireless microphones for recording lectures and lessons for later podcasting. We don't want wired headsets if we can avoid them as they tend to be cumbersome and limiting, and will put teachers off using them.
I have found a couple of bluetooth headsets, but they are expensive (AUD$400+). If anyone has used or has experience with this type of device and can offer any suggestions it would be appreciated.

One possible issue, how many student laptops will have bluetooth channels open that might cause interference.

Just an impression, but both the music industry and the CS center hardware folks have experience & practical gear that would suit you less expensively.
If you are going to clip audio frequencies for podcast compression, you might not want the primary recording gear to have done that already.
