But Gear Pro keeps asking for Video_ts files!? I've been advised to get IFOedit (to create the templates) trouble is i open ifo and havnt a clue what to do. Could a really great person out there just scribble down a few notes to get me started. I just want an idiots guideto get me on my way as the read me file is useless.

  2. Gear is a DVD BURNING program - in other words, it will take files READY to burn and create a DVD that a set top box will play. What it will NOT do it take an MPEG file that you have created and CONVERT it into a files that a DVD player wants (as far as I know)

What you need is a DVD AUTHORING program that will take your MPEG video file (and possibly a separate audio stream if you have one) and AUTHOR the files that you then would use a program like Gear to get onto the disc.

Examples of what you want are: DVDit, MyDVD, SpruceUp and ULead MovieFactory. These will accept the files that your LSX MPEG encoder has made and convert them into 'VOB' files.

Frankly, I think Gear is rubbish. Any decent authoring program will make a 'video_ts' folder for you anywhere on your hard drive - you then simply use Nero to create a DVD and drag the video_ts folder across!

Hope this helps. There are lots of 'how to' pages on this site for using the above mentioned software.

    Good luck!
