Hi, I have brought a Eurolab 10.2" Digital Swivel Screen portable DVD player. SPDV1020YAN. It will only play region 4. It will not even play region free discs. I have searched for a code and have even looked for a player that is similar in appearance but to no avail. So I am hopping that someone here can help. Thanks in advance. Ian

You can always ask. About 1 person in 100 does actually get an unlock code for a machine that seems to not have one just by asking here. But the reality is that your player probably can't be unlocked. Not all players can be unlocked. Players like portables, car players, DVD/VCR combos and players built into TVs rarely can be unlocked.

A quick google search didn't reveal anything useful. As jman98 pointed out, not all players can be hacked and very few, if any specialty players can be hacked.

It will only play region 4. It will not even play region free discs.

Just for laughs....if you are familiar with backing up your DVD's....create a region 4 backup disc
and see if that will play. Odds are pretty good that it will play.

Use dvdshrink in backup mode and click on dvd region tab and choose region 4 checked only.

Yes have done that and it works. But it is a pain just to play a movie. Thanks again.
