Just wondering if it's possible to change the dvd disc to play in other regions? This is because I got a Region 1 dvd from amazon and then it's not possible to play it on my player... what can I do about it? Thanks.

Rip with dvdfab decrypter and burn on dvdr and it will be region free.
    Or
Make your dvd player region free, www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks or if you play on your computer use dvd43.

Additionally, your ripped DVD may be too big for a single layer DVD disc. If it's dual layer size you either need to shrink it to fit on a single layer DVD or burn it to a dual layer DVD.

If you need to shrink it to single layer size, DVD Shrink is the easiest tool for newbies to use.

If you want to try to burn it to dual layer discs, we recommend using ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and burning with ImgBurn. Using other brands of discs or other burning software may lead to playback problems.

Region is only one think on DVD. You can rip it and get file region free, but region 1 is NTSC format. I am not sure what your country use, or if your player can handle PAL, if that what is a standard in your place.
If it need different format, than changing region will not help.

Try. Most European PAL players can play both formats, may be yours can too.
What I ment is a PAL player sold in Europe.

You have a good chance it will play. NTSC in a PAL country is not bad.
    PAL in an NTSC country.....BAD.
