"For the last four years, when asked "when can we expect to see the Back To The Future trilogy on DVD?", Universal have given the same answer over and over again: "Some time next year.." Now it looks as if it may finally be true for 2002. The BBFC have authorized a Back To The Future DVD trailer and Universal have actually confirmed that we can expect the movie to be released worldwide in the 3rd quarter of 2002. Keep your fingers crossed and your wallets ready for this one, it's going to be big."
its about friggin time, now where is the indiana jones trilogy and the star wars trilogy. I tell you. Though I heard on indiana jones they won't be releasing the first three on dvd until part 4 is about to be released. Something about boosting interest in part 4.

I heard that the Back to the Future trilogy was put back again from that release date. As for Indiana Jones I heard that they were going to release them one a year in a 2 disc set. (Speilberg recently said at a university film visit that he declined the offer by George Lucas to come do a commentry for them). The Star Wars Trilogy is even further off with George Lucas not releasing them until at least 2006 after Episode 3 comes out. He is apparently holding them off so he can do some type of super special box set. At least I have Star wars and Back to the Future trilogy on VCD to keep me until then

I tell you what, Lucas is suck a prick, i mean how much more money can the guy squeeze out these movies, At least Spielberg released Jaws and Close Encounters, Lucas sticks us with the worst movie out of the four. Howard the Duck will be on DVD before the Star Wars trilogy

Don't count the BTTF trilogy being out on DVD until you have it in your hands. All the rumors & lies make nothing but actual release believable (except if you have a Delorien that just happend to travel into the future where you found out the exact release date but hey isn't Chelsea Clinton president in that time period?)

this is one of the biggest tragedies of the dvd era
the worst part is that TCM (turner classic movies channel) showed the full widescreen uncut version last weekend, and i realized at the last minute, so i tried to go direct to MPEG-2, and had the wrong audio input selected...
but that's the only place i've seen the widescreen version in years, so anyone who's interested in making a svcd copy of it might want to keep an eye on TCM (it was part of 'inventors movies night' or something)
