I got a multiple CD SVCD movie (4 discs, super nice quality, one ring to rule them all, yada yada yada), that I want to do a few conversions on.

First, I want to join all four parts together and convert to a single LARGE HUFFY AVI file (HD space is no limitation!) to keep on my hard disk. I want to keep as much quality as possible. I will not tolerate an A/V sync problem and need to know how to avoid that.

Next, and related to this first point, I want to make a reasonably good quality 2 disc DIVX set of the movie. I am equipped to use either 4.12 or 3.11a (multipass using Nandub). I will be using either MP3 sound, or OGG Vorbis (which is better quality at lower bitrates).

Finally, I want to make a 2 disc SeVCD set (90 minutes per disc).

I've never converted from SVCD before. Here's what I've done so far, and the problems I'm having.

First, I copied the AVSEQ001.MPG file to my hard disk. Next, I used TMPGENC to remultiplex it to SVCD standard.

I tried to do the VCD convert first. Loaded up NTSC, set the layout etc to get right aspect ration. Set it for 29.97 fps. Set the bitrate.

But there's a problem. I'm doing a "test" clip of about 6 minutes of footage, and the sound is all fscked up. By that, I mean that all of the frames of video finish playing until before the audio is even 2/4 of the way through. What the hell is going on?
