I have a unique situation. We are creating one of our first DVDs, a safety video for a private jet. They have an Alpine unit onboard that doesn't read DVD-R discs. I told them, we'd either have to A) get a pressed one made or B) get a new player, which would probably be cheaper. If we go that route, what player plays them? I am at a stand still when it comes to getting info. I found that the Pioneer SDV-P7 plays them, if they are in Video Format. What does that mean? Should I be concerned? Does anyone know a player that I would have no problem with DVD-R discs? PLEASE HELP!!

I know this may sound obvious, but have you tested it on a normal dvd player to see if you authored the dvd correctly, and have you tried dvd-rw discs in the Alpine.

Yes, the disc played great in every DVD player. I haven't tried a
DVD-RW, but I doubt that would make a difference.
