Its just like using a vcr - take the output from the dvr to the input on the dvd recorder.

Just note that any encrypted channels like hbo etc will most likely not record.

You should use svideo out to svideo in for best video quality. Then use standard rca cables for the audio.

    ?

You want to record the dvr to the dvd recorder right? You would send the dvr to the dvd recorder and then the dvd recorder out to the tv.

Or is there something else? What kind of receiver is this? Is it an hdmi receiver? THen I would not be able to help since I don't have one. However the anlaog outputs are all that you would be able to record with anyway.

  5. Connect s-video or RCAs, preferably s-video, from the DVR out to the DVD in, if using s-video you still need RCAs for audio. Then set the DVD on whatever input you connected the DVR to. If there isn't an input button on the remote, go through the channels until you get to the right one. Connect the DVD out to the TV in and set the TV on whatever input you used.

You "might" be able to record via firewire to your pc. Does your dvr have a firewire port? If so than you might be able to use it to capture high def. Though again encrypted channels won't copy and some stations are set to record once on the machine and not allow a digital copy off of that (something about a c flag but I can't remember the precise term).

EDIT - Though your analog recording will be very good. This will be 480p downconverted to 480i if I remember correctly that i only transfers over svideo. It will still look quite acceptable on a dvd recorder.
