Out there, how many types of DVD Copying protections are available?

    How do they work?

CSS, Macrovision and ARCCOS come to mind. There are probably a few more.

How do they work? They don't.

Well, they do stop ignorant people from using Nero to do disc to disc copies, but every DVD copy protection system can be defeated and the DVDs can still be copied with freely available tools. The basic procedure is to rip to remove copy protection and re-burn.

Discussion at this site on how to overcome copy protection is in the same category as sex and politics.
