Thanks to all of you I finally got my YouTube video quality pretty high. There is one thing that isn't too bothersome, but it would be nice if I could get rid of it. It's clear, but very slightly choppy. If it could be a little smoother, I'd be happy.

I export to .dv (original format) in full quality from iMovie
then export to .mp4 with MPEG Streamclip without limiting and data rate or deinerlacing.

Here is an example if you'd like to see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl0jdHCb6yY .

What is your source frame rate(29.97fps?) and are you exporting to same using mpeg streamclip?

Try the fmt=18 (mp4) version and see if that is any better (make sure your flash player is up to date). The default HQ version is flash, and it's not as good. But Baldrick is right - check your original file you uploaded and verify the framerate is correct.

Doesn't seem choppy to me. Maybe it's your machine ? Interesting, with the &fmt=18 trick, the black bars are cropped.

Good job keeping the aspect ratio correct. You're a big fish in a small pond in that regard

Other than a couple of places where the video seems to hiccup and the camer is a bit unsteady, overall it seems smooth.

Someone else mentioned it might be the machine you're watching it on. I've discovered YouTube vids can look "choppy" on one computer and not on another. I haven't gotten to the bottom of why this is.
