    All,

What is the best way to convert from DVD to a format (mp4, mov, avi) that is quicktime compatible in order to export it for streaming?

I tried converting to an mp4 using nero recode (the latest version) which does play in quicktime, however it will NOT export to a streaming mov correctly. I think that quicktime doesn't fully support the mp4 that is created from Recode.

Is there any other software that works reliably to create a fully compatible quicktime movie from a dvd? Something like DVDFab perhaps?

    Thanks very much,

    Mike

Quicktime won't open a dvd directly. I'm looking for something that converts a dvd into a format that is fully quicktime compatible. I would then use quicktime to hint the movie for streaming...

  4. Give ripbot264 a shot. Use the "AppleTV" profile setting for compatibility

(for quicktime, h.264 streams cannot have b-pyramids, and only 2 consecutive b-frames, and avc "main" profile, I think)
