This guide will explain how to convert any video to a FLV with H264 video and AAC audio and put/host on your site together with a flash web player. You don't have to put it on a site like Youtube, Vimeo, etc, then.
Software:Freemake Video Converter (It's FREE).Guide:
Start Freemake Video Converter.
Add your video sources, video files or click on DVD to select a DVD-Video folder or DVD-drive.
Click on the scissor to easily edit/cut or rotate/flip your video.
Click to FLV at the bottom. (Scroll to the right at the bottom to get "To FLV")
Select Embed video to my web page.
Click on Edit Preset(Blue-button).
Under Video codec change to H.264 .
Under Bitrate type change to auto(you can also set a specific bitrate, lower bitrate=lower quality and lower file size).
Convert!
An example will popup and tell you how to put the video on your site:

Great tutorial, only problem is that you might want to mention that you have to scroll to get 'To FLV', as it's not immediately apparent.

Thanks, I've also never managed to get a properly functioning flash player for my site, especially a free one [Without the extremely frustrating watermarks they always put on the damned things], so double props.
