    Has anyone had experience with this player? I am looking at buying one these or the DVD-S559. Would it suffice as a high quality player that is simple in operation? And does it play DIVX off a usb flash disk?

    Depends on what you mean by "high quality". Some of the highest rated players for video quality, are the Oppo players. They are also Divx certified.
