  1. Hello I just installed my Hauppauge win tv pvr 250 on my new dell inspiron with a 5000x amd x2 2.2 ghz processor, 2.0 gb ddr2sdram, integrated video and audio, 320 gb hd. Ok that is my specs. I started off with the installing of the drivers and they installed ok. Then I go to install the wintv middleware and it says that it is not compatible with my current system and I chose ignore and install it anyways and it says installing pvr 150 drivers. That is not the main driver cause the main one is the current on there site the 118 series driver and the middle ware 2.3 version that is on there site under pvr 250 support. Then after that I install wintv2k 413_24088 then after that installs I install the hcwsmd_23290 then its all done. When I start Wintv and check the mpeg settings there are no settings to choose its just blank. Also it does not detect my input signal. I don't have a video card or sound card on my pc yet would that be a problem? I have a really nice system for power and will get a video card and sound card soon. I ran it on my old pc wich was a winxp home, 3.0 ghz intel celeron, 512 ddr ram, 64 mb video agp video card and a sound blaster card. Can anyone tell me how they got there pvr 250 to work with vista. I don't want to use it for tv watching or tuning just recording mpeg2 from vhs and making the capture to dvd. That is all I am using it for. Thanks for any info.

  2. I am using a PVR 250 and a PVR USB 2 on my Vista Home Premium without any problems. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and middle ware from Hauppauges web site. The 250 driver is 1.8.21.23257; dated 9/14/2005. The USB2 driver is 2.2.73.24117 dated 4/27/2006. I don't know if Wintv works or not as I use BeyondTv instead. As for recording from my camcorder (mini vhs) and vcr I use a ADS Tech DVD Xpress DX2.
