i read a ripping guide that shows u how to get 5.1 suround sound for divx files. i was wondering, is it possible to somehow convert the divx file to mpeg and retain the 5.1 suround sound (probably not)? or could u just convert the video straight to video and then add the 5.1 suround sound audio after and be able to burn and watch it on vcd or possible svcd? just a thought.

Well that really isnt true either. vcd only has 2 channels that is true. SVCD can have 5.1 digital audiobut can only be done in linux at this time. I think it is called mulit channel mpeg audio. well anyways here is the link for it. http://www.labdv.com/en/examples/svcd_audio.php
