Videora iPod Converter seems to be popular. Other tools for portable devices: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/portable-mobile-psp-ipod

The size of the file would depend on the settings used.

If you want put the video on your iPod Touch, make sure the video formats are as follows:
H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

    Good luck

i converted 'Thriller' with Videora iPod Converter and mostly the beginning shows the picture being clear, and then looks all greyed out. It doesn't happen long, but its pretty annoying. It also happens on a couple of my Family Guy Episodes as well. Here are some screen shots:

    Hi,
    Try this: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic344379.html

It has presets written for all kinds of iPod conversions and doesn't have the grey frames issue, which is caused by buffer overruns in the x264 encoder.

Generally a 2hr movie is between 800-900mb and is sufficient quality for TV-Out to a Plasma/LCD
