Hi All. I am using a BFG 7800 GTX as my graphics card (PCI-E). I have one free PCI slot, one free PCI-E 4X slot and two free PCI-E 1X slots. I am looking for a capture card that will fit into one of my open slots.
ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENTS:
-Cheap!!
-MUST definitely work with Windows Vista Ultimate x64
-Analogue input
-Be able to capture standard TV resolutions @ full frame (640x480, 720x480, 720x486, ...)
WOULD ALSO LIKE:
-For it to be not crappy (ie, no horizontal lines when capturing, sync issues, bumpy/fuzzy picture, buggy software, etc., etc.)
-Uncompressed capture
-HD resolution input capable (NOT firewire/USB)
DON'T NECESSARILY NEED:
-Remote control
-TV tuner
-Anything fancy
Looking for something as simple as can be, as cheap as can be. I have heard of companies like Pinnacle, Hauppage, and KWorld have products like this, but I really don't know anything about the companies. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't exist. What's your budget?
no horizontal lines when capturing,
You can deinterlace it but it's not advisable if you're fianl destination is DVD. You'll also be throwing half the resolution away. -

"no horizontal lines when capturing,"
Yup that even knocks out thirft shops and bargain bins.
So you are saying you want some kind of progressive capture card?

sorry guys, guess I wasn't that clear...
I meant no horizontal lines in the way of very noticeable, black lines every so often across the image. Nothing to do with interlacing; more like the lines are "on" the image -- not part of the image. I have seen and heard about this malfunction in some cases.
And this doesn't exist? really?

(keep in mind, I really don't need the "would also like" stuff... those were just suggestions in case SOMEthing happened to come up) -
I would look into ATI, Leadtek and the Kworld cards. But make sure they have Vista 64 drivers available. Same with capture software. Descaler does, don't know about VirtualVCR. Probably a PCI card would be cheaper than a PCI-E or X. One to look at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815310002
I don't think you will see a cheap HD capture card. But HD off satellite or cable doesn't need to be captured, AFAIK. -
The big issue is the sync with most of those cheap cards. The audio is passed off to the soundcard for processing .
