lg hdd/dvd rh 177 multi region help ?

hi guys
i bought a lg rh177 dvd hard drive recorder in january of this year and it was multi-region modified however it broke down two weeks ago so i took it back andthe shop gave me a replacement one(exactley the same model) unfortunately this one isnt multi region so i cant watch my r1 dvds.i tried a couple codes i found on the net but neither worked so im wondering if anyone on here mighjt be able to help me unblock mine ?
any help is much apreciated :?

There are hacks listed for your player in the DVD Hacks section. Keep in mind that there are times when the hacks are different between different versions of the player (US and UK versions for example). Also, sometimes the manufacturer locks the firmware on newer versions of a player to prevent the hacks from working.

one guy mentioned going to lgregionfree website and downloading something but the link doesnt work
any other ideas ?

Then it sounds like the new models have updated firmware which can no longer be unlocked (hacked).

There is a whole thread on that forum with firmware updates and tricks for the LG series 1000 recorders. ( I think the 177 is one of these). I used it to make mine multi region.

dante.7 - Good luck, but I suggest you read KrispyKritter's posts again because you seem to not be paying attention to them. Your attempt to put this player in multi-region mode MAY FAIL because the firmware has been changed on the model. Hacks don't always work for this reason. Perhaps you will be lucky, but you need to be prepared for the fact that nothing you do will work.

I'm not sure whether the region hack for Asia model is it applicable to your set or not.Asia model is LG RH1777WS,LG RH 1988WS,LG RH1F99WS,those set selling in the mega store have pasted a region hack procedure on the box,teach you step by step how to make the set region free.Below are the procedure:

On the remote control:
Press "Home"
Press "Setup"
Press "Auto Programe" for a second,than press "Enter" to stop it
Move left come down to "LOCK" Icon
Press" 0" more than 7 times
Congratulation message will appear
Press "Enter"
Press "Setup" to clear the interface
Press "OFF"

That will set the recorder to region free.
