I've converted several of my old purchased VCR movies to dvd using Canopus ADVC without difficulty. Today I tried and the captured video phases in and out....only on my PC, the television video plays perfectly. I'm thinking this video must be copy protected. I'd hate to have to replace all of my VCR films with store bought DVDs. I've already paid for them once. Is there a work around? Thanks.

Yes, the Canopus has detected a macrovision signal.
Yoy need a video stabiliser to circumvent that signal. Do a search of the forum for 'macrovision' for more information. -
I have Canopus ADVC 100. I googled macrovision and found the fix....I just finished copying my film to the PC and it worked like a charm. Thank you DB33 and bendixG15 for responding to my post.
