  1. Hi!

Just stopped recording a TV broadcast and I can't get my recorded file (*.ts) to *.avi. TMPGENC tells me that only the audio part could be decoded, what's wrong? I mean I can play the file normally with VLC but not with other players... Do i need an extra codec?

    Tnx in advance!

Depends if it is Mpeg2 TS or H264 TS. Load it up in Gspot to find out.

If it is h264, you'll need to install FFdshow and Haali Media Splitter. Make sure you activate h264 decoding. Use the latest version found on https://www.videohelp.com/tools/ffdshow

Convert it to regular Mpeg2 with HDTV2MPEG2 https://www.videohelp.com/tools/HDTVtoMPEG2

Transcode the resulting MPG file to AVI

    That means

    1 - It isn't an MPEG2 TS file

2- The file is corrupt or encrypted

    Post a Gspot screen cap
