I was wondering if the downloaded editing software has any disadvantages to the hard copy?
Thanks

What specific editing software? In general, the downloaded versions are the same as the disc versions. Of course very large programs aren't really practical for downloads.

Yes, the major difference is the downloaded version is more likely to work. The disk version probably requires you to d/l patches and upgrades anyway...

For Vegas the box version has printed user documentation vs. pdf.

Do You know if I buy the box vers. If I have to install from the disc or can I just register the trial version I downloaded? I would Uninstall the trial right before loading from disc?

Sometimes, the downloaded version won't contain the bonus content. Like backgrounds, templates, and other stock footage.
When you download and purchase your software online, be sure to safe guard your registration key. Print it out, something. This is another small negative to online purchased software.Linux _is_ user-friendly. It is not ignorant-friendly and idiot-friendly. -
I know for Ulead it doesn't contain a lot of the extras as mentioned, backgrounds, graphics etc. These can all be downloaded through an update utility in the program.
