    Hi All.
I am posting this here, as I am new to this forum.
I have downloaded DVDslideshow GUI . The program is great for constructing
A slideshow, however I have a problem creating a mpg file for burning to dvd.
Previewing the slideshow from the project file is OK.
If I try to create a mpg file greater than about 30 slides it stops at that point continuing to show the last slide. It seems that the HcEnc encoder is producing a corrupt mpg file.
I have looked at the threads and can not find a clear answer.
Note: I have over 80 GB of disc space free and 3GB memory so this should not be an issue.

    Hope you can help.

Does it always stop at the same slide? In other words, do you keep trying to create the slide show with the same set of photos? Maybe you have a bad photo.

    Hi Krispy
I have tried several sets of images, up to about thirty is OK
with a set of 160 the file build stops between 20% to 25%
this seems to be line with the thirty slides.
This problem is a real shame as the front end of the software is excellent.

  4. In order to locate this error could you first try to export as .avs and drag and drop that resulting file to Media Player Classic - and see if it plays okay?

(Do you have sound/music on you slideshow and if so is that longer that the first 30 slides? Btw. animated slides will take longer to render)

If it looks okay in MPC - that error is somehow related to HCenc - try to download the latest Hcenc and rename/replace that with the one in the DVD slideshow GUI folder - and see if the latest makes the same error.

I hope we can locate that error.

    HI tin2tin.

thanks for coming in on this .
    in answer to your questions
in all cases below avs files when viewed with MPC are OK and there is no sound.
    log of attempted projects.
48 images output (mpg file) OK
98 images output (mpg file) failed at 87 images
146 images output (mpg file) failed at 37 images
80 images output (mpg file) failed at 72 images
91 images output (mpg file) failed at 18 images

all above using HCenc encoder V 0.21 (as downloaded with DVDslideshow GUI)

To day (as advised) downloaded HCenc V 0.22
I have tried one project (120 images) this failed at 46 images.

where do I go from here ?( or do I give up)

  6. If you export as .avs and manually run this from HCgui - does the same thing happen?
(if not it might be caused by the settings in the HC.ini in the DSG folder(they can be changed in notepad when opend as .txt file))
