    Hi Guys,

I've browsed the net for a few hours but haven't found a clear answer to my question yet.
I've got several WMV video files (instructional videos) of about 50 minutes. However 20/30minutes of a video file is chitchat and not really interesting, so I wanted to cut out the boring parts.

    At first I used
AVI/MPEG/RM/WMV Splitter v4.28 to split the interesting parts in several chunks and used Easy Video Joiner to join the chunks, but some chunks don't have audio.
GSpot v2.70a says the codecs are WMV3 and MSS2 (different for several files)

Can you recommend software to achieve what I want to do?

I also tried converting the WMV's to AVI files to get supported playback on other devices (mobile phone etc.) and easier editing, but for some reason converting a 100MB WMV file, gives me a 700MB AVI file.
If I convert my WMV files to MP4 files, the video speed is faster then the audio speed.
How can I succesfully convert a WMV file (WMV3 and MSS2) to a more standard video type that is easier to handle?

Try cut with movica or asfbin. You could also cut with Windows Movie Maker and export to a new wmv but the video will be reconverted.

And when you convert to avi you must lower the video bitrate if you want smaller file size. If you tell us what tool you are using we might help you easier.

I will lookup movica and asfbin. Thanks!

To convert to mobile format (MP4) I use PS3Video Converter or Super, but both of these just don't swallow 3/4 of the WMV files. They're done converting in 1 second without error messages.

I also tried Magic Video Converter and this one does work, but the video speed is off (it runs faster as it should)
