    are there any (like the bose 1-2-3) that have a dvd player that can be made region free....i am in the u.s.a.

    Most combo units can't be hacked. In most cases, you are better of buying individual components anyway. You will get better quality, control over the features that you want/need (such as a region free player) and less hassles later when a component fails.
