    I've just bought this player at BB and the region free and HDCP free hacks worked perfectly.
    Now I am wondering if anyone found a solution to upgrade the firmware so it could play Divx.
    The HD850 sold in europe can play Divx, I think we only need a firmware upgrade.

    Hi, I've just bought one from Comet in the UK. How did you get the HDCP hack to work? I can't make it work at all... the 4327 thing...

    I've tried everything...I want to push 1080i over component. I know the region 1 players can do it...anyone know how to make a UK model do it?

    If you set NTSC as the default in the setup you will get the full range of upscaling when you put a PAL disc in the drive. If you set the default as PAL you won't get the 1080i . Thanks to the previous contributors for this hack as it worked perfectly as a region free and Component output combined. Bangin'
