  1. What is the best FREE software tool (Windows OS) to help capturing audio that is being played on the PC to MP3 and/or WAV format ?
    I saw a few out there by google search them but it's so confusing.
    I am currently using Audacity for this purpose but it's a bit cumbersome to use.

    If you want MP3, use can use MP3 DirectCut.

    I am curius as to why you say audacity is cumbersome.

    I use this application for the same purpose and have no problems with it, the only thing i do do to make it run smoother is to zoom the time line window out to something like a 20 minute view, so it isnt doing constant screen redraws while recording.
