It's the Toshiba HD-A2 (1080i) and it's not available in all stores. Smart marketing or desperation move?
They will also have select HD-DVDs for $15 each.
I personally don't even know if my Wal-Mart will have these since they currently don't stock any Hi-Def players from either camp unless you count the game systems (PS3-Blu-Ray & HD-DVD player for XBOX 360). Strangely enough they do have a fairly decent selection of Hi-Def movies (go figure).

For what it's worth, there were very strong rumors that later this month WalMart will announce a cheap HD-DVD player in time for Christmas. If I could get a good deal on an HD-DVD player that can do 1080p I would buy one right now.

if i could find one in store i would get one. but they dont even list that model on their web site. i have 15 stores near me to choose from. ill be damned though if im drivin all of them.. the 50" plasma looks good too btw

FWIW: Any decent HD TV will display a quality image from 1080i or 1080p. Not to mention there are many other considerations to take into account besides just choosing 1080p "because it is best".
