I have always used dvdshrink to backup my dvds. I save them as an iso file and then burn with nero7 essentials. But for some reason when I used it today the settings had been changed, and it is now backing it up with a few different files now that start with I00...then a mds file. Isn't that a file extension associated with Alcohol? Anyway, since I didn't change any of the settings I have no idea what happened. Its definately possible that a family member did but since I don't know what they did I have no idea how to fix the problem. Is there a way to get things back to the way they were. Backing up as one iso file? Or is there a way to change these I00 files into one iso file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out here...

    Hi...

When you choose Backup DVD you will get a small window.

At the top it stands select backup target and there you can choose some alternatives

    Choose ISO image file...

ANd if you backup to a hdd partition with only fat32 the iso will be splitted if it's above 4gb.

I did choose iso image. there are 2 options iso and iso and to burn with dvddcrypter.

The thing is I tried a video I've already done and it turned out fine and it is doing it too. The video isn't over the 4gbs.

The file output would read .iso but that isn't what is backed up. Its these I00 and mds files. It does it with dvddcrypter as well.

I figured it out! YAY! You were right baldrick! I changed the place that I saved the files to a 500gb external harddrive that isn't the same as my harddrive on my computer. Thanks for all your help.

It seems to be that DVDshrink I spliting the iso file into 1G chunks...

Why I dont know but as Baldrik says it looks like you are trying to save
the ISO image to a drive with FAT32 filesystem...(I has a 4Gb limit)...

    But no worries...

If you download imgburn and use this program instead of Nero the problem i solved...

Imgburn is a much better program to use when burning DVD and its free..

with whis program you can creat and bulid, convert ISO files try it...

Only open the MDS file and start to burn your DVD...

But why this problem have occurd now ??? how knows
