    Good day all.

I’ve been trying my hand at using DVDLab Pro. I did successfully complete authoring some concert footage into a nice DVD using this guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic220092.html .

Using the same guide on Friday and Saturday (moving kind of slowly and carefully) I tried to author some TV episodes I’ve captured. I figured it would be pretty straight-forward. Instead of doing things for just the one movie, I duplicated my efforts for each movie (episode). But when I tried to compile the disc, I got a passel of error warnings. Most of them were saying that a specific link in a menu pointed to nothing as in “movie1scene 2 button #3 is no longer a link” That’s a paraphrase, but you get the idea.

There were also a couple of warnings that talked about some buttons being a “trap.”

I’ll be perfectly honest with you. I have very little idea what those warnings were trying to tell me. I can read, so I can decipher what they mean, but my real issue is that I don’t know what caused them.

My only clue is that I created motion menus from the still menus. I’m using a newer version of the proggie than is used in the guide. In that guide, one is supposed to convert motion menu renders to MPEG2 after creation. However, on my version, there is a choice to render the motion menus as .AVI or MPEG2. My assumption is that there should be no need to convert if that option is enabled.

All of the errors listed had the little “eye glasses” icon beside them, which means they are not deal-breakers, but need to be checked into or corrected.

Needless to say, when I got all those errors and was totally confused, I just closed the program with the intention of starting over. Before I do so, I’d like to get some input from those of you experienced with this program. I do this to relax, not to raise my blood pressure. 8)

I use a Hauppauge PVR-350 with which to capture, so I know the footage inserted into DVDLab Pro is compatible. The spec. listed above are correct for the system I’m working on.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I’m about ready to author and burn my beloved “Wild, Wild West” series and my newly acquired “Space Ghost” series to discs (been working on the latter for several months now and it’s complete). Yeah, in many ways, TV has a long way to go to get back to where it was – which can also be read as “this fool’s trying to relive his childhood.”

Thanks in advance, folks. I sure do appreciate you all and this forum.

If your warning is an Icon with eyeglasses, than it will be OK to compile, however your DVD will not work the way you want. Specially if it say "Button Trap", it means that pressing that button DVD player may get stuck.
On rest of it you have to go and check all your connections since they may have been accidentally deleted.
If you work within one VTS, it should be no problem, if you are going between more than one VTS, you have to use "Bridge" to connect.
All you files should be Mpeg2.
A screen shot of your connection window would help.

Sorry, but when I closed the program, I nuked that connection window. Not the brightest move, I know...
