Was looking at ripit.com and reading the FAQs regarding DRM and was wondering something about the protection. Its says I can burn a CD 3 times or copy it 3 times to a portable device.

Now I wouldnt buy music based on this because I simply copy things to and from my ipod all the time, a 3 time limit is not good enough, if I buy it I want to use it to my likeing.

So I was wondering, when I burn these DRM protected songs to a CD, if I then rip it back from the CD to my HDD will it still have the DRM on it or could I then transfer that file to my ipod as many times as I like?

I only have a smaller ipod to run with and dont have one of those big chunky store everything you own on it ones and depending on my mood I copy songs to and from it all the time - I would not buy songs that limit this.

I have just checked that URL, and according to it they
do not sell mp3s, but WMAs. MPEG Audio was not designed
to support DRM. But back on topic: no, it's not a good businness
to buy a copy-protected file that sounds even worse than an
    old but already-not-so-good MP3.
