I know that there are some reasonably neat things that you can do with Google Earth, like find Disneyland or the Pyramids, but I've found a nice little time waster/prank that has amused me of late.
First, you must have a technophobe or computer illiterate on hand.
Next, either set their pc up, or bring a laptop with GE installed.
Dial in their address and zoom a bit. That right there is pretty funny as it is.
Finally, while they're still in awe, ask them to go outside and do something towards the satellite and you'll try to guess what it is. If you're lucky, the PC/laptop will be by a window and you'll be able to see what they're doing and amaze them even more. If not, you can wing it and say that the detail isn't that great ("I guess...")
It may not be funny to some of you, but it's a real "hoot" when the people still have tape decks and VCRs.![]()
