I can't figure out why I'm getting dropped and duplicated frames on my DVD output.

    - Original footage is regular NTSC video (from a mini-DV camera).
    - From iMovie, I output to full quality .mov.
    - I take that into FFMPEGX (Mac) and use the DVD mgeg2enc preset. Video bitrate 3742kb/sec, Framerate 29.97, Interlace mode: noninterlaced (i took a screenshot of the options window with the settings I've been using).

I've seen previous postings about setting to NTSC film with 3:2 pulldown. Since this is all video, I can't imagine that 3:2 anything applies. I checked out this posting: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic322505.html but that only seems to apply to NTSC-Film sources requiring pulldowns.

    Has anyone had this problem?

DV is 29.970 fps, so you can't encode it to 23.976 with pulldown without doing damage. You should keep the Interlace setting as Interlaced, as that is what your source is, and what you should be encoding to.

Do you only get these problems after you encode to mpeg-2 ?

Exactly. Only after encoding to mpeg-2. The original .mov is free of any frame-skipping or dropped frames.

I'll have to do a quick edit. I might need a day, but thanks for offering to take a look.
