    Hi every one. I m new to this amazing site. Ok here is my situation;
    1) I recorded a TV show I like to watch using my DVD recorder.
    2) I recorded it on a DVD-RW and want to place it on a normal DVD+R.
    3) I used "Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum 4" to rip my DVD and it did the job but... the quality is very bad...

    I heard DVDfab is very good but is there somthing way better? I need the exact quality as the origonal DVD I recorded.

    Thanks in advance.

    DVD ripper won't affect the video quality. Any ripper should be fine.

    DVD Decrypter is all you need here. Rip in IFO mode.

    If the quality is bad - explore your recording method.

    Most DVD recorders have multiple recording modes - you trade quality for space. Are you using a higher quality recording mode - 1 or 2 hour?

    If you are using your DVDrecorders tuner is it any good? Some DVDRecorders have crappy tuners - my LiteOn gets a better picture if I use my VCR's tuner as source than with its built in tuner. If you are on cable you might explore the composite video output from your cable box as source. It also offers a superior picture to my Lite-on's own tuner.

    When i record using my dvd recorder, I get amazing 100% clear quality. But when I rip the dvd from the dvd to the computer for some reason the quality is defected. Idk why. Btw my dvd recorder encodes write protection so i cant just drag and drop lol. Can dvd decrypter get past the write protection?

    Ok I've tried DVD-Decrypter... and no it doesnt work. It stops at about 12% and keeps re-trying (after 20 re-tries I quit). I m gonna try DVDfab now.

    No, it's not. It is a file copy. If the quality is changing, it is something you are doing when you play it back. Like it or not, it is not the ripper at fault.

    That usually means the DVD is stained or scratched. Check the disc for those two then try again.
