I have tried and tried to work out how to give an end user of a dvd the option to play all, rather than just chapter selection then return to menu, but the only way i can see is to drop the whole footage onto the timeline after the last chapter, thus approx doubleing the dvd length,....anyone any ideas.
    Thanks.

In other packages you would use a playlist to do this. You would have one title, with appropriate chapter marks. You would create a chapter playlist for each chapter that returned to the main menu. The play all would simply link to the beginning of the main title and play through.

I assume you have a single title with chapter marks, and not a separate title for each "chapter".

within avid, i have the dvd menu at the start of the time line, say three chapters to choose on the menu, each chapter directs straight to the chosen part on the time line then when chapter comlpete it returns to the menu. I have tried to work out a way to say "if click here then play all and don't return to menu when any chapter is complete" but there doesn't seem to be this type of option.

I don't know Liquid, other than it is primarily an editor. Quite a few editors have basic DVD author functionality grafted on nowadays to allow for the creation of quick discs for previewing, however they are not full featured authoring tools and allow for only basic menus. If you want to create more complex discs then you need to add a full, stand-alone authoring application to your tool set
