basically heres my problem, i want to use my VCR to encode a vhs tape i have to VCD, i can choose the video and record that with WINDVR
i can not get sound, i would like to know what type of cable i run from the VCR and where i run it to on my Soundcard or on my Nvida Stand Alone media Box.
and then what option i choose as far as audio goes on win dvr

Hi,
From VCR to standalone media box
1) Audio -> Line in
2) Video -> Comp in
If your VCR has Svideo output then SVideo -> SVideo in
The above is to get input from VCR to the media box
From media box
1) Ctrl Bus ( green cable ) -> Xtasy video card
2) Line out ->( next to Ctrl Bus ) -> Your sound card
Win DVR
Right click on the Win DVR display -> setup -> Record tab. Audio, pick the sound card device on your PC, choose Line in for sound input.
Video, choose nVidia WDM Video Capture, pick Svideo or Composite or TV depending on where your source is coming from
