A single file you can't delete, or a program you can't get rid of ?

Do you get any message when you try to delete the file or folder?

I ask because there is a fixable owner permission issue that sometimes comes up in XP even if you are logged on as an administrator.

Yes that did the trick thanks.
I was then able to reinstall my sound driver
