I just downloaded SVCD2DVD and installed it because I had read that it was supposed to be a pretty good DVD authoring package but I have to report that I was not impressed, at all !!!

The software seems to work OK - if you can put up with constant messages telling you " that this feature doesn't work in the trial version " but I didn't mind that so much because it was only a demo after all.

What really annoyed me was the fact that the video clips it produced had gigantic watermarks right through them. I wouldn't even have minded that so much if it had told me in advance that this was going to happen, but it didn't. There is no warning of this at all! I wasted 2 hours of my valuable time setting up a realistic demo DVD project and encoding it only to find that none of it was of any use - plus I wasted a DVD as well.

Why bother releasing a totally useless demo program? I can handle a time limited demo - at least you get a chance to work with the software a few times to see if it will fit into your workflow. I can handle the crippleware too provided enough functionality remains for me to be able to use the software properly but scvd2dvd is a complete joke and I question the logic of releasing a demo that it so hideously limited.

This software may work really well. It may even be a great bit of software but, insofar as I am concerned, it is never going to get a chance because I have now uninstalled it. This is a direct consequence of the basic marketing dishonesty the vendors employ.

If you are considering downloading the demo version of this software can I sincerely recommend that you don't! Try something more effective like ConvertX2DVD instead.

Just because you were not afforded an opportunity to do your project free of charge is no reason to post unfounded and inaccurate statements about a useful and very functional software product.

Oh yeah, ever hear of a DVD+/-RW disc? Or, heaven forbid, previewing your project BEFORE burning? And wow, 2 hours is one heck of a slow learning curve on such a simple to use software.

One upside to this, we will not be dealing with your sunny personality in this part of the forum.

But *GASP* he might have had to read some of the documentation to see that.

No wonder he came here, looking for a freebie to do his project since that one watermarked it too.
