    Hi everyone

I have a Pioneer DV-393, and I'm having problems with DIVX Rewind. It skips a whole 1min as soon as you press the rew button... It's kind of sad considering you might miss a subtitle or phrase and wish to rew only 5-10 sec...

Further more the speed by which it rewinds (by this i mean when watching the counter) isn't smooth at all, that is sometimes it rewinds 5sec every frame then just jumps another whole minute.

FF works fine, and so does both REW and FF on proper DVDs.

I also tried various .avi thinking it might be its enconding. I also tried re-encoding with ver 6 but still same problem.

Could it be my player is faulty?

    thanks
    L

PS I tried searching in this web's database and nobody seemed to have complained about rewinding T_T

  2. It might help if you set Divx's "Max keyframe interval" to something less than the default 300 when you encode. I usually use 100. You might try going as low as 50 or even 25. The lower you set the value the less efficient the encoding though.

  4. If you have "Use presets to configure encode" selected on the main config tab you can't change the frame control settings. I don't remember if the free version allows you to turn off the presets.

You might try using Xvid instead. It's free and more configurable.

Seems like a big waste of time and loss of video quality just to enhance a feature that isn't likely to be used.
