Hi All
I HAVE PURCHASED ULEAD DVD PICTURESHOW ALONG WITH BACKUP CD
HOWEVER THE FINISHED CD WILL NOT PLAY ON ANY DVD PLAYER EXCEPT TEAC DV-3000.
I HAVE A CLIENT WHO IS A PANASONIC/JVC MAIN DEALER IN THE U.K. & HE SUPPLIED ME WITH A PANASONIC DVD PLAYER BUT IT WOULD NOT PLAY FINISHED CD'S SO HE TRIED EVERY DVD PLAYER IN SHOWROOM & ONLY PLAYED IN THE TEAC, WHICH HE SWOPPED FOR ME.
WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY IT CAN ONLY BE PLAYED IN THIS ONE DVD PLAYER AS MY SON & FRIENDS HAVE OTHER MAKES & THE IDEA WAS THAT I COULD SHOW MY DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS ONLY BY THIS MEANS.
IF THE ANSWER IS TECHNICAL I WILL FORWARD TO MY DEALER CLIENT FOR HIM TO ANALYSE.
IT IS BEING PRODUCED ON A MAXDATA 700GHZ, 256MB MEMORY, 10GB HDD, ACER CD-REWRITER SO AS A COMPUTER CONSULTANT I SEE NO COMPUTER SIDED PROBLEM. AN EARLY REPONSE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED AS WE ARE ALL BAFFLED.
Can you help - or direct me to someone who can?
Does colour of cd's make a difference?
Anyone who has had success with this - please communicate so I can compare or find where I am going wrong
Thanks

I have been using this program since after Christmas. Hate to say it - no hardware problems.
I have used Verbatim 4x CD-RW, Memorex 700 MB 16x CD-R and generic K-Hypermedia 650MB 8x CD-R.
I burn with a Micron P3/733 256MB with Sony CRX140E CD burner.
I have viewed them on my Philips DVD711. I think I tried my Apex 1500 also but it plays most anything.
The results are stunning. It takes in standard still graphics files (I tend to scan to BMP to avoid jpg compression loss) and displays them as still MPG images (704x480 NTSC, PAL if ya want) and compensates for the 10-15% overscan if you want. The menus are good although I'd like more templates.
I have found some quirks:
- if you use an audio background file (MP3, WAV both ok) at the end of the audio if there still are slides it will jump back into the audio at random.
- the interface uses dialog boxes, some not resizable which makes it awkward if you have the screen realestate. Even if a screen is resizable it does not remember the old size like most Windows programs.
I have gone up to 12 menu selections, 250 pictures. It can do 1900 on VCD 2.0 and 9000+ on a DVD (I'd like to see that).

Not that many DVD players are able to play VCDs that are burnt onto CDRs. You may want to try CDRWs instead; they seem to be more DVD-player friendly.
