I have a few questions pertaining to my copy of Microsoft office 97 Small Buisness Edition OEM.
I do not know a whole lot about OEM so here it goes:
1) Can this OEM version be upgraded with a newer version of Microsoft office Small Buisness Edition?
2) Can I upgrade from OEM to an OEM newer version?
3) I do understand Microsoft will not do this , but what about buying an OEM upgrade off of EBay?

What version are you wanting to upgrade to? Unless you are trying to jump straight to the latest version, you should be able to get older versions cheap enough without the need to worry about "upgrade" versions.

You might also look into Open Office. It has most all the functions of MS Office, but is freeware: http://www.openoffice.org/ It should function as well or better than MS Office 97.
The full version of MS Office, even the older Office 2003 is fairly expensive.
Most OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) installs come bundled with the computer and are limited in features and a upgrade would just be to a full version. Since they are OEM, they may be part of the restore discs for a computer and not as often a stand alone product.
