Hi, this is just a simple post to introduce myself before I start posting elsewhere. I lurked for a little while before joining and this seems like a great place.

Hello Snetty,
I too welcome you to our little community. No doubt you notice that we are quite friendly (well we don't eat many people these days) and try to be as helpful as we can.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. -
Hello, Snetty. I'd like to give you some tips that will hopefully help you here.
If you have a question, the more you tell us about what you did, the more likely you will get a helpful answer. Would you take your car to a mechanic and say "I've got a problem with the car, but I'm not going to tell you what it is. However, I expect you to find it, with no help from me, and fix it or I'll be very angry."? You'd be surprised how many people do exactly this here though.
Include everything you think might be helpful if asking a question. Tell us what software you used, what your video source was, what media type (DVD-R, DVD+R, etc.) you have, what brand it is, what brand and model your DVD player is, etc. I see posts here all the time where people, usually newer people, leave all the most crucial information because they think it "doesn't matter". Just because YOU think it doesn't matter, for example, whether you burned a DVD to Verbatim DVD+R or CheapoBrand DVD+R, it might make a HUGE difference because we might know that CheapoBrand has terrible quality problems and makes an inferior product that everybody has problems with. Then we just waste our time and yours until you finally tell us that you used CheapoBrand discs and that's the real problem. I see this all the time here. If you need help, then don't think you're so smart that you know what is and isn't important to tell us or you'll likely leave out what we really need to know to help you.
My second bit of advice to you would be to stick around and keep learning. If you ask one question and then get bored and leave, don't blame us when 3 years from now you have learned absolutely nothing beyond what you know now and then technology changes to the point that your ignorance is hurting you and you have to come back and ask questions about things you could have learned yourself had you stayed with us. -
Welcome! As you already know, there is a wealth of information here and sometimes it takes a while to find exactly what you're looking for. So, be patient and you'll be rewarded!
