    from today's Marketplace:

$1 million to rat out your company!

An alliance of software companies is offering up to a cool seven figures to whistleblowers who report their companies' use of pirated or illegally copied computer programs. Helen Palmer reports.
The Business Software Alliance is offering the whistle-blower reward. It's a trade group that represents most of the big software companies, including Microsoft, Adobe and Symantec.

    interesting..
article says "Lerner says $1 million could certainly flush out a few disgruntled workers to dish dirt on their bosses. But he warns it could be a very dangerous career move, given how companies value loyalty."

..i don't think i'd be worried about working for a while anyway! :P

The sticking point is in the proving the case ... that is collecting all the required data to prove it was actually occuring at the time it was reported ... before they can do anything about it .

Do it once ... fine , you'll have a few new enemies which will take it personally , and take some form of revenge .
Do it twice , and you may need to move countries .

If you have family , local ties ... you might think twice about it due to the complications that develope after ... such as drive bye's , phone calls and letters including death threats ... harrasment of family members , loss of re-employment opportunities once word gets out .

Dose anyone really want to get into such a mess .

Just look at all the whistleblowers from industry from over the years , and look at how they have been treated ... even years later .

They better add another 0 to that amount .

And if you do it , say no to checks ... they bounce .
